Visa to Egypt

How do I obtain an Egyptian Visa independently on arrival at Hurghada, Sharm El Sheikh, Marsa Alam, Taba airports?

If you arrive at Sharm El Sheikh Airport and plan to leave Sinai (e.g. Cairo, Luxor, Alexandria, etc.) and/or plan to stay more than 2 weeks in the Sharm El Sheikh region, we recommend that you obtain an Egyptian visa on arrival.

For stays of up to 15 days in Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Taba only and no departure from Sinai (including trips to Petra (Jordan) and when tours to Israel resume), an Egyptian visa is not required, a Sinai stamp will be applied, which is free of charge up to a 15-day stay in the regions listed.

If you arrive at Sharm El Sheikh Airport, Terminal 2, immediately after entering through the door, there is a Misr Bank (Banque) on the left hand side, after passing through thermal imaging and security check, go to purchase an Egyptian visa at a cost of USD 25 per person. You can pay in cash or by bank card. If you give the amount in Euros, you can give change in Egyptian pounds or sometimes in metal Euros. There have been cases where staff have abused the system and not given change. In such cases, the bank card would be used and the debit would be at the official bank rate, plus a conversion fee or card fee if applicable.

If the Egyptian visa is issued in hand, it must be affixed to the passport as there are two types of airport stamps in the Sharm El Sheikh region: Egyptian and Sinai, and if you only have a Sinai stamp, you will not be able to go to Cairo or any other cities outside Sinai and you will have to come to Sharm El Sheikh airport to have the stamp stamp stamped at a later date, possibly with an additional fee.

When arriving at Hurghada, Marsa Alam airports, look out for the Visa section, you won't be able to miss it, but if it's not a bank section, payment is only in cash, and only in foreign currency - USD 25, Euros, English Pounds (change in other currencies is possible or not). If it is not a bank branch, there is no possibility to pay by bank card at this time.

If your passport is diplomatic and/or you are a national of another country (check the list of countries that are not eligible for an Egyptian visa on the day of arrival), the Egyptian visa must be booked in advance (online).

The Egyptian Visa is issued for a period of 30 days, without the right to work. If you are staying in Egypt for a longer period of time, it is necessary to arrange the renewal of the Egyptian visa at the visa office.
